We couldn’t celebrate the 100th Gilwell Reunion without a party!
On Saturday afternoon the party atmosphere was building as
everyone headed to the Training Ground for the traditional afternoon
speaker – this year we welcomed Dwayne Fields.

As everyone came to sit in the sun they found KSWP (Kings Scout
Working Party) handing out cake (instead of Pimms) and Scout Radio
warming the crowd up for the party games with musical statues.
As you might expect it was compulsory enjoyment time for the
UK Leadership Team as they were directed to lead by example
and join in! There were certainly some interesting dance moves and
commentary which did leave us wondering if everyone understood
the rules.
Following Dwayne’s inspiring speech, CJ, Deputy UK Chief Volunteer
led, or was that organised, a series of party games for the willing crowd
members. It was a little like watching the chaos of a Beaver meeting
with the UK Leadership Team heading up teams and everyone taking
their own approach. There was the team hula-hoop race. No one was quite sure if Rob Murray’s (Chief Volunteer for International)
alternative approach to passing the hoop down then line and then
stepping through it himself was ingenuity or cheating. The final game
involved throwing bean bags through a hoop.

Apparently, team leads were briefed before hand and as a Scout is
honest teams kept their own scores.
Congratulations to the Perception Team, and those who joined their
team, who won the box of chocolates.
